I developed the concept of Cacao Spiritus™ as a way to enter the Active Imagination and discern the wise voice from the doubting, critical voice that often dominated my thoughts.

Calm the Nervous System

Channeling, creativity, and meaningful
risk do not emerge from overthinking.
They arise when the body returns
to its natural state of ease.
This is the move: shift from vigilance
into receptivity. Activate the vagus nerve.
Return to pure presence.
Rub your hands together until
warmth gathers.
Place them over your heart.
Then gently over your eyes.
Inhale deeply.
Hold.
Exhale completely.

Repeat three times.
Hum, low and steady—
until the chest opens and the body
begins to settle
Draw your arms behind you,
reaching back as if to touch
your palms together.
Open across the chest.
Lift the sternum.
Create space for breath, for
signal, or energy to move.
Now—slow the head.
Gently tilt your ear toward
your shoulder.
Pause. Breathe.
Return to center.
Then to the other side.

Move slowly, without force.
This subtle lateral motion,
paired with breath and gaze,
stimulates the vagus nerve—
signaling to the body that it is
no longer under threat.
Option to deepen:
Turn the head slightly while
keeping the eyes steady, or let
the eyes track the horizon slowly.
This is orientation.This is regulation.
This is how the body remembers:
you are grounded, open, and
able to receive.
Prepare a bowl of very cold water
with several ice cubes. When fully
chilled, splash your face three times.

Violet Flame Visualization

CLEAR AND RELEASE
Now begin to invite the Violet Flame.
See it. Sense it. Allow it to emerge where
it is needed.

It purifies.
Let it move through areas of contraction,
transmuting worry, stress, and held
emotion.
As it works, imagine these energies
dissolving and lifting, refined into a
clear, luminous white light.

full belly breaths through your nose,
expanding your belly with each inhale.
Pause. Exhale slowly through your nose,
contracting your abdomen as
you release. Repeat as needed.

A 30 DAY PRACTICE
After tasting, open your Forest Journal.
For the next 30 days, record what comes
through.
